As enterprises adopt AI agents and assign them more work, the more of Cloudflare’s platform they need. These agents are generating web traffic, connecting to enterprise systems, using serverless infrastructure to run code and tools, and will soon start paying for the content and services they need. Cloudflare is building across all four of those needs in its globe-spanning programmable edge network.

Now that we've walked through its Q2 results, let's look at where Cloudflare is moving across its various Acts and why the agentic opportunity extends well beyond consumption-based Workers. This includes product announcements across Content Independence Day (July 1), Agents Week in early August, and Birthday Week in late September. This will also be of interest to competitors in next-gen security (SASE/SSE), serverless infrastructure (DigitalOcean and hyperscale clouds), and analytical stores (Databricks and Snowflake).

  • Agentic AI is driving demand across all product lines (Acts). Cloudflare already has several ways to benefit as AI agents do more work, and the agentic payment opportunity is now opening up from here.
  • Agentic AI in Act 3 is also driving the need for Act 1 and Act 2 services. The ongoing rise in developers and deployed apps is feeding back into more demand for Act 1 and Act 3.
  • Internet traffic flowing through Cloudflare continues to rise, with Radar showing accelerating global traffic growth. Cloudflare's US-based traffic has more than doubled so far in 2026.
  • Its reach over the public Internet keeps expanding. As of July, web minders show Cloudflare appears to now sit over ~30% of the Internet.
  • Their SASE products lag the competitors per industry minders, but they have multiple differentiators across their global edge network, highly relevant network security products (Act 1), customizability (Act 3), and post-quantum encryption readiness.
  • Mgmt now reports over 10M developers using Workers, another significant step up from Q2.
  • Cloudflare continues to expand its building blocks (primitives) for agentic AI, including new web browsing and search services, and two types of dynamic sandboxes for running logic, code execution, and tool calls.
  • These sandboxes are expanding Cloudflare’s role in the AI ecosystem, letting agents use its consumption services even when the agent or workloads run elsewhere.
  • They are wrapping these sandboxes in a management layer, evolving them from one-off infrastructure towards long-running repeatable workloads. They've also wrapped these long-running sandboxes into a virtual computer that provides consistent shell and filesys access.
  • Mgmt estimates that 80% of frontier AI labs use Cloudflare, with the top 2 clearly using both Act 1 and Act 3 services. Multiple vibe-coding apps and agentic engines are deploying generated apps (such as team dashboards and collaborative tools) onto Workers.
  • Cloudflare OS is now available as an open-source platform that can be deployed within a customer's Workers environment, and it will soon be a fully managed service.
  • Their new serverless analytical data lakehouse, Basin, is now in production and will start contributing in Q4.
  • Act 4 is taking shape across several emerging monetization capabilities and agentic wallet features.
  • Those monetization moves combine with an expanding set of features in Act 1 that help track and constrain AI agents (Bot Mgmt and AI Crawl Control), visualize agentic traffic (Insights), and track AI engine mentions and use of that content (AEO).

Cloudflare has been hosting its Cloudflare Connect conference this week. Sadly (for us virtual attendees), their event app still hasn't provided a replay of the main session, "The Agentic Internet: Building and securing what comes next". I'll give a quick update before Q3 earnings report (Nov 5) if anything new emerges. The session notes did hint at more data sovereignty features.
